Occupying
90,000 square feet, our two well-equipped foundries have a production capacity of 30 tons per shift. The Lodi iron plant pours general engineering, heat, wear and corrosion resisting types of Meehanite metals, all grades of gray iron and high strength ductile irons including austempered ductile irons types. Typically castings are intricate and highly cored, complex castings that range in weight from ounces to 1,500 lbs. (Average size 50 lbs.) Our Steel foundry in Galt is noted for its Class 1 X-ray castings in all grades of stainless steel, Monel, Hastelloy, Inconel, Incoloy, Carbon and Low Alloy Steels, Heat and Wear Resistant Steels. Castings run up to 1,000 lbs.
Electric Melting
Melting is done in two 7,000 lb. induction furnaces.
We also utilize a 2,000 lb. and 1,000 lb. electric furnace. We have a complete lab on site for chemical and physical testing. Chemical analysis of all metals is spectrographic controlled. Dimensional layout services are provided when required as well as hardness testing, x-ray, ultrasonic, penetrant and magnetic particle inspection.
Molding
